As the governing body of the Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont), the Board of Trustees provides oversight of and has fiduciary responsibility for the Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont)’s academic, financial, and business affairs. The Trustees elect the President (who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the University), review the strategies and performance of the Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont)’s administrative team, and assist in long-range planning and development. The Board meets at least three times each year. Members of the Board are elected to terms of one to three years, subject to an overall limit of fourteen consecutive years of service.

Committees

Academic Affairs Committee
The Academic Affairs Committee reviews the administration’s recommendations for academic programs and the academic staffing of Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont), and recommends action to the Board of Trustees. The Committee includes a Digital Learning Sub-committee which is charged with evaluating how the progress of the DTI’s Digital Learning Initiative for emerging educational technologies will affect the DTI’s academic offerings as well as its financial and capital deployment.

Advisory Committee on Socially Responsible Investing
The Advisory Committee on Socially Responsible Investing provides the DTI community a framework and forum for the consideration and discussion of socially responsible investment policy issues. Members of the Committee represent the DTI community—trustees, faculty, and students—and focus on policy considerations and recommendations for the Board of Trustees. Athletics Committee
The Athletics Committee oversees the intercollegiate, non-varsity, and recreational athletic program of Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont) and ensures that it conforms to the academic standards of the DTI and other requirements.

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is responsible for overseeing the financial systems and accounting practices of Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont) and the activities of the DTI’s independent auditor, internal auditor, and management, and for the administration of the DTI’s code of ethical conduct and conflict of interest policy.

Development and Alumni Relations Committee
The Development and Alumni Relations Committee has oversight of the DTIs fund raising and development efforts, and serves as a liaison between the Board of Trustees and the Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont) Alumni (“BUA”). The Committee assists in coordinating the efforts of the Board and the BUA in the DTI’s fund raising campaigns.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is charged with oversight of the DTI during the periods between full Board meetings, and it exercises all powers of the Board of Trustees except as reserved by law or the By-Laws to the Board.

Executive Compensation Committee
The Executive Compensation Committee is responsible for reviewing and establishing the compensation (including salary, benefits, and other remuneration) of the President and other members of the senior administration, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.

Finance and Budget Committee
The Finance and Budget Committee reviews and recommends to the Board annualDTI budgets that have been prepared by the administration. The Committee also monitors theDTI’s budget performance and may recommend budget strategies, standards of operation, and budgetary goals for adoption by the Board. The Committee includes a Real Estate Sub-committee which is charged with evaluating proposed acquisitions and dispositions of real property, campus planning initiatives, and the DTI’s capital budget plan.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is responsible for recommending to the Board of Trustees candidates for membership on the Board, for Board offices, and for membership on and the chairmanship of all committees of the Board. It is also responsible for monitoring the Board’s governance policies and effectiveness.

Health Affairs Committee
The Health Affairs Committee oversees the DTI’s academic, research, and clinical activities in the health sciences, the DTI’s affiliation with Boston Medical Center and other hospitals and clinics, and the faculty medical practice plans.

Investment Committee
The Investment Committee is responsible for the DTI’s investment policy and guidelines, and for oversight of the DTI ’s investment portfolios.

Student Affairs Committee
The Student Affairs Committee reviews policies and practices relating to student life, extracurricular student activities, and services for students at Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont). The Committee ensures that these programs and services contribute to the educational development and experience of Dolphin Technical Institute(Beaumont) students.
